Description
Sunny View is a detached cottage dating from 1720, as indicated by the datestone above the door, and underwent alterations in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers and features a Welsh slate roof with an axial brick stack. It has a baffle-entry plan and is two storeys high with three windows. The front has a 20th-century door located in a gabled porch to the left of center, flanked by a 2-light beaded mullioned casement on the left and two more on the right; the right-hand bay is a late 18th-century addition. Above the door, there is a datestone and a bull's-eye window. On the first floor, there are three 2-light beaded mullioned casements, with the eaves raised at the same time as the bay was added; all the mullions have been removed. The right return features a 2-light casement on the first floor. There is also a rear 2-storey addition to the right. The interior is said to include an open fireplace and chamfered beams. The cottage is included in the listing primarily for its group value.
