Description
This is a semi-detached cottage located south of Vine Cottage, dating from the late 17th century. The cottage features an irregular bond in thin bricks and a thatched roof with gable-end brick stacks. It is two stories high with three windows. The central entrance consists of a planked door set in a segmental-headed opening, flanked by three-light casements that have projecting flat arches. On the first floor, there is a two-brick plat band, with a two-light casement in the center and 4-light casements on either side. The right side of the cottage is constructed in English bond brick and has two oval windows on the first floor above the plat band, as well as two oval windows in the attic. The rear of the cottage features a 19th-century outshut. Inside, there are chamfered beams with step and run-out stops, and the stairs are located in the 19th-century outshut, which has been refitted in that period. The number 45 is incised on a stone at the front of the building, which relates to a survey conducted in 1784.
