Description

A pair of cottages located at the end of a row, dated 1700 as indicated by a stone tablet on the front. The cottages are constructed of Flemish bond brick with a thatched roof and brick stacks. They are one storey and attic in height, featuring three windows. Number 8 has a planked door set within a chamfered wooden case, while Number 10 has a 20th-century door to the left and a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned window to Number 8. Number 10 also has two two-light casement windows. The attic has eyebrow dormers with two-light casements. The right return side is rendered. The rear of Number 8 features a planked door and two-light casement windows, whereas Number 10 has a 20th-century porch and two-light casement windows. The interior of Number 10 has been altered, while Number 8 retains planked doors, a wooden latch on the door leading to winding stairs located to the south side of a blocked open fireplace, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
