Description

NORTON THE STREET, Foxley ST 88 NE (north side) 3/68 Two Unidentified Monuments in the churchyard, 2-3m south of tower, Parish Church GV II

Two chest tombs. Mid C18. Limestone. Monument at 2m with angle pilasters, lozenge panels to ends and cyma recta moulded slab. Much overgrown at time of re-survey (May 1986). Monument at 3m has floral angle pilasters and 3 raised and fielded panels to each side. Central side panels have egg-and-dart friezes and eroded inscriptions. Cyma recta moulded slab repaired to the east end with metal clamps.
