Description
South Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone and features a tiled roof with a hip on the left side and brick stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and is two stories high with five windows. The front has casement windows, with a central door that has margin-pane glazing and is sheltered by a stone Tuscan porch. On either side of the door are two 2-light chamfered mullioned casements. The first floor features five 2-light chamfered mullioned casements. To the left of the main section is a cross range that includes a 2-light mullioned casement on the return and a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement at the gable end. The rear of this wing has a large external stack with offsets and a 1-light recessed chamfered casement on either side. The right return has a 1-light chamfered casement on both the ground and first floors, along with a blocked doorway. The rear of the farmhouse has a 19th-century flat-roofed extension and additional casements. The interior has not been inspected.
