Description

The Brooks Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 2.5 metres south-west of the tower of the Church of St John Baptist. It dates from 1769 and is made of limestone. The tomb features floral angle pilasters and side panels that are advanced with coved end sections and a coved centre, which includes incised lettering. It has a moulded base and a cyma recta moulded slab. At the time of the last survey in July 1986, the north side was covered with ivy fronds.
