Description
East Codford Farmhouse is a late 18th century and early 19th century farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house. It was partly rebuilt after a fire in the mid-20th century. The front is made of dressed limestone, while the rear is constructed from English bond brick, topped with a thatched roof featuring coped verges and brick stacks. The building has a parallel range plan and is two stories high with a three-window front that has been rebuilt.
The central door, which dates from the 20th century, is framed by a pilastered architrave, with steel casement windows on either side and three steel casements on the first floor. The right side of the building has 12-pane sash windows and 2-light casements, with a straight joint indicating that this front range is older. The early 19th century rear range features a central half-glazed door, a segmental 12-pane sash window to the left, and a tripartite sash window to the right, with similar sashes on the first floor, all having cambered brick heads. There is a central full gabled tile-hung attic dormer with a leaded 2-light casement. A single-storey brick extension is attached to the left side of the building. Inside, the farmhouse includes stairs with stick balusters and six-panelled doors.
