Description

These are two houses located in Chippenham, dated 1693 and altered since their original construction. They are built of roughly-shaped limestone rubble with an ashlar stone plinth. The roofs are covered in modern plain tiles, featuring a central brick stack and modern hipped dormers. Each house has a single-room plan with later rear extensions.

The houses are two storeys and appear as a two-window range each. Originally, each house would have had two small two-light windows to the first floor and a three-light window to the ground floor. These original windows were all framed by hoodmoulds and had ovolo moulding to the architraves and mullions. Number 5 now has modern windows set beneath hoodmoulds. Number 6 retains original windows with 6/6 pane sashes. The interiors were not inspected during the listing process.
