Description

Carley Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and has a half-hipped thatched roof with a central axial stack. The cottage follows a baffle-entry plan and is single-storey with an attic. It originally had a single window facing the front, with a 2-light casement to the left and a 20th-century door to the right of centre. A brick eyebrow dormer containing a 3-light casement illuminates the attic. The side returns each feature a 2-light casement on both the ground and first floors, along with a 20th-century porch attached to the right return. A cob outshut is located at the rear. The interior was inaccessible when surveyed in April 1987.
