Description

Glebe House is a detached house built in the mid-18th century and rebuilt in 1864. It features a combination of flint and limestone chequers, with a tiled roof that has coped verges and stone stacks at the gable ends. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a three-window front. To the right of the center, there is a six-panelled door set in a latticed porch, with a 3-light ovolo-moulded wood mullioned casement to the right and a combination of a 3-light and a single-light casement to the left. A plat band runs along the first floor, which has three 3-light wooden mullioned casements. Above the door, there is a partly illegible datestone inscribed with I.T / MDCCXL. The attic features a moulded stone cornice and three gabled half-dormers with 2-light mullioned casements.

At the rear, there are lean-to additions with slate roofs and a 19th-century stair turret. The left side of the house has a square bay window with a 16-pane sash and a 2-light casement on the first floor. The rear kitchen wing, which is made of cob and timber framing, includes leaded casements. The right side has a 2-light casement on the first floor and two single-light casements in the attic. Inside, the house contains 19th-century joinery, including window shutters, 4-panelled doors, and a marble fireplace in the room to the right of the entrance. The kitchen range at the rear features a large open fireplace with a moulded stone surround, and there is an outhouse with bread ovens and a copper.
