Description

No. 71, High Street is an early 19th-century house. It is built of rendered brick with an ashlar plinth, a right-hand party wall stack, and a stone slate roof. The house follows a single-depth plan. The front has a symmetrical design and features a cambered head over a 6-panel door, with the top pair of panels glazed. Late 19th-century 2-light casements are on the ground floor, and there are 2/2-pane sash windows on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected. Historical records describe the property as being “beneath the wall” and adjoining the site of the medieval south gate.
