Description
This is a late 18th-century granary located to the south-west of Charlton House. The granary is timber-framed and weatherboarded, resting on staddle stones. It has a half-hipped tiled roof. There are three bays, with double-planked doors on both the east and west sides, secured by strap hinges. The roof structure consists of tie beams braced to the main posts, with raking struts to the collar. Straight wind bracing is present on the purlins in the central bay, as documented in unpublished records of the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England), Salisbury.
