Description

Beechfield Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of colourwashed flint with brick quoins on the left and large stone quoins on the right. The cottage features a thatched roof and is one storey with an attic. It has two bays and was extended to the rear around 1700, with a lean-to added to the right in the 18th century. There is a stack positioned between the left bay and the rear bay. The cottage has 20th-century metal windows and two flush dormers, with weatherboarded cheeks above the wallplate. The roof is hipped and extends down over the lean-to. Inside, the right bay has a chamfered ceiling beam with ogee stops, and on the first floor, there are central middle crucks that are elbowed, extending from the floor beam to a high collar.
