Description

The barn at Manor Cottage is a Grade II listed structure dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, resting on stone sills, with a thatched roof. The barn consists of three bays, featuring a central cartway and an attached stable at the eastern end. The framing includes reused timber, stud walls with tension braces, jowled posts that support ties and corner braces, as well as queen struts and collar trusses with straight windbraces supporting a single purlin roof. The roof is half-hipped at both ends, and the stable roof is lower than that of the barn.
