Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century and late 18th century. It is constructed of stone and timber framing with wattle and daub infilling, all covered in roughcast, and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring four bays. The central block includes a stone cross wing at the west end, while the second bay has developed into a cross wing with a two-storey bow window extension to the south and a north gable that matches the west wing. The entrance to the projecting wing of the second bay features a 17th-century studded timber door in a moulded frame. The windows include paned types, with a tripartite window in the first bay dining room and 12-pane sashes in the bow at the rear. There are false windows on the gables of the north front. The interior is not accessible, but it includes a 17th-century stair at the end of the through passage from the front door, featuring shaped splat balusters and ball finials on the newels. There is a timber-framed wall in the kitchen and chamfered ceiling beams. The building was damaged by fire in 1846 and subsequently restored.
