Description
Stable Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 16th century. It features square-panelled timber-framing with brick nogging and has a half-hipped tiled roof with a brick stack. The building has a baffle-entry design and consists of three bays, standing one storey high with an attic. The front has a 20th-century door to the right, with a three-light and a two-light casement window to the left, and a single casement window to the right. There is a gabled dormer in the roof with a three-light casement.
On the left side, there is one two-light casement and two one-light casements in the attic. The right side features one two-light casement on the ground floor and in the attic. The rear has 20th-century casements and a single-storey extension with a tiled roof and a dormer. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with ogee stops in the centre bay. The Royal Commission on Historical Monuments recorded smoke-blackened roof timbers, indicating that the cottage was formerly open to the roof, with a first floor inserted in the 17th century.
