Description
No. 52 is a house in a row located on High Street in Market Lavington, dating from the 17th or 18th century, with its gable end facing the street. The exterior is finished in painted pebbledash and topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic. A 20th-century panelled door is situated to the left, accompanied by a flat canopy supported by cut brackets. The ground floor features sixteen-paned sash windows, while the first floor has 3-light casements and a replaced 2-light window in the half-hipped gable. Inside, there is a small front room that was likely originally a shop, a large living room at the rear with a lateral stack, and a narrower kitchen extension. The spine beam in the living room has check and scooped chamfer stops, and there is a timber lintel above the fireplace.
