Description

No 20 on High Street is a 17th-century house that has been altered. It is constructed from colourwashed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a two-window range. On the first floor, there are two early 19th-century sixteen-pane sash windows. The ground floor includes a six-pane shop window on each side of a door that is set in a chamfered surround. There is a hoodmould over the door that steps down over the window to the right. Although the interior was not inspected, a photograph taken by Fox-Talbot in the 1860s shows that the ground floor originally had mullion windows.
