Description

No. 8 High Street is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier. It has a timber frame that is rendered, with a rubble stone plinth and a stone slate roof featuring a stack at the east end. The building has two storeys, and while the framing is mostly covered, five wall-posts are visible. On the first floor, there are three pairs of renewed casement windows, and on the ground floor, there is a door with a timber hood, flanked by paired 8-pane windows. The interior has not been inspected. There is evidence suggesting that the south side of High Street may have been built substantially in the 14th or 15th century.
