Description
No. 11 High Street is a house from the mid-18th century, possibly built over an earlier structure. It features painted rubble stone with a stone slate roof and an east end stack. The building is two storeys high and has a double front. The front includes cyma-moulded 2-light flush mullion windows, with two on the first floor and one on the ground floor to the left. The centre door has a chamfered surround and is topped with a hood supported by scroll brackets, while there is a plain door to the right leading to a through passage. The house has flush quoins and a drip course above the ground floor, which is interrupted by the door hood. The interior has not been inspected. There is evidence from discovered cruck-framed houses and the even roof-line that suggests the south side of High Street may have been built substantially in the 14th or 15th century.
