Description

No. 10 High Street is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber-framed structure with plaster panels set on a rubble stone base, topped with a stone slate roof that has a stack at the west end. The building has two storeys with exposed framing. On the first floor, there are two pairs of 8-pane sash windows, and on the ground floor to the right, there is another 8-pane sash window. The entrance door is framed in simple timber pilasters, and to the left, there is a broad canted bay on a brick base with windows arranged in a 3-9-3 pane configuration. The interior has not been inspected. There is evidence suggesting that the south side of High Street may have been built substantially in the 14th or 15th century.
