Description
April Cottage and Maridon are a pair of cottages from the late 18th century, located on the east side of Hindon High Street. They are constructed of English bond brick with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have three windows across the front.
April Cottage features a four-panelled door in a porch, flanked by two-light casements on either side, with two additional two-light casements on the first floor. Maridon has a 20th-century door and two-light casements on both the ground and first floors. The rear of April Cottage retains its original integral lean-to kitchen, which includes a planked door and two-light casements, along with one two-light casement on the first floor. Maridon has a 20th-century tile-hung extension on the first floor above the original lean-to kitchen.
Inside April Cottage, there is a small open fireplace with a chamfered lintel set on brick jambs, along with chamfered beams and planked doors. The interior of Maridon has not been inspected.
