Description

This is a monument featuring a statue of Nelson, the dog, located in Pythouse Park, West Tisbury. The statue is made of limestone and is larger than life-size, depicting the retriever reclining on a rectangular plinth. The plinth has recessed inscription panels that highlight the virtues of the dog and note that he died in 1874, on the 69th anniversary of Admiral Nelson's death.
