Description

The gate piers to the east drive of Pythouse date from the 18th century and are made of limestone ashlar. They feature chamfered rusticated square piers topped with a moulded cornice and stepped capping, which is adorned with ball finials. The gates are currently missing. These piers are likely associated with the Pythouse built in 1725, which was incorporated into the construction of John Benett's Pythouse in 1805.
