Description
The terrace balustrade and steps leading up to the orangery at Pythouse Park were built in the 1890s. This feature consists of a limestone balustrade that includes round-arched open panels, channelled rusticated end and intermediate piers topped with ball finials or urns, and flat coping. The structure is complemented by a long flight of straight stone steps that are flanked by matching balustrades. The style and details of the balustrading are identical to those found on the steps leading to the 1891 wings of Pythouse.
