Description
Court Farmhouse and gates is an early 19th-century farmhouse with late 19th-century additions. It is constructed of dressed limestone, with chalk and brick at the rear, and features a hipped Welsh slate roof and ashlar stacks with moulded cappings. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with a three-windowed front, which includes sash windows. The central door has six beaded panels and is sheltered by a hipped lead porch supported by cast-iron posts. On either side of the door are 16-pane sash windows. The first floor also has three 16-pane sashes, and the roof has deep eaves.
On the left side of the building, there is a 16-pane sash window on both the ground and first floors, while the right side has a single 16-pane sash window. The rear of the main range features 16-pane sashes and a central round-arched stair window. Attached to the rear left is a later 19th-century wing made of rubble stone, which also has sash windows. The interior was not accessible during the survey in September 1985. Access to the front door is via stone steps with a cast-iron handrail, leading from impressive double gates adorned with spearheads and small iron finials.
