Description
The White Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of painted rubble stone and features a thatched roof with a half-hip on the left side and a coped verge with a stone and brick stack on the right. The building is single storey with an attic.
The front includes a planked door set in a 20th-century porch to the left of the center, a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement window to the left, and a 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement window to the right. The attic features an eyebrow dormer with a 3-light leaded casement window on the right side.
On the left side, there is a 20th-century lean-to extension with casement windows on the first floor. The right side has a 19th-century single-storey extension and a 20th-century mullioned casement window. The rear of the cottage has 2-light casement windows. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in January 1986.
