Description

The columns located to the south-east and south-west of the Orangery at Wilton Park date back to the 17th century and are attributed to either Inigo Jones or Isaac de Caux. They are depicted on Rocque's plan from 1746, which shows their original position at the former Porter's Lodge. These stone columns feature high moulded plinths with bold projecting frosted rusticated bands and Ionic capitals, each topped with orbs.
