Description
Polesdon House is a house dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It is built of whitewashed brick and features a tiled roof. The house is two storeys high and has a three by two bay layout. A 20th-century glazed central door with a minimal frame leads into a central stair hall, while a second door, which is four-panelled, is located in the left side bay. The windows are sixteen-pane sashes set in reeded frames, with rendered gauged brick lintels above them. The roof is hipped. At the rear, there is a wing that contains a two-bay timber-framed building with three panels high. There is also a sun insurance sign without a number. Inside, the front reception rooms have marble fire surrounds, and the rear wing features chamfered spine beams.
