Description
74 and 75 are a pair of semi-detached cottages built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of uncoursed dressed limestone and feature an ornamental tiled roof with limestone and brick stacks. The cottages have a U-shaped plan and are two stories high with a four-window front. Each flanking wing has its own entrance; No 74 has a planked door, while No 75 has a six-panelled door, both adorned with hoodmoulds. The front of each wing includes a three-light mullioned window with a hoodmould, and the first floor has a two-light mullioned window with a hoodmould. The central range features two three-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds on the ground floor and two two-light mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and gablets on the first floor. The left and right returns have two-light mullioned windows on the first floor, and No 75 has a 20th-century lean-to extension on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected. These cottages are a good example of unmodified Wardour estate cottages.
