Description

The Maypole Inn is a public house built in the early to mid-19th century. It features a front made of flint with brick bands, while the sides and rear are constructed from uncoursed dressed limestone. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, and there are brick stacks. The building is two stories high with three windows. The central entrance has a round-arched doorway with double doors and a fanlight above. On either side of the doorway, there are segmental-headed 16-pane sash windows, each with louvred shutters. The first floor contains three 12-pane sash windows. The left side of the building has casement windows and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor. The right side has a 20th-century extension. At the rear, there is an outshut with 20th-century casements and gabled dormers. The inn was formerly known as The Arundell Arms.
