Description

Two monuments are located in the churchyard about 2 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Nicholas. These are two chest tombs from the mid-18th century, made of ashlar stone. The first monument, dedicated to Ann Hicks, features two shield plaques on each side, fielded panelled angle piers, and a decorated center pier. It has a moulded base and a cornice that breaks forward over the piers, with an inscription to Ann Hicks on the north side. The second monument is unidentified and has two octagonal plaques on each side, fielded panelled angle piers, and a decorated center pier as well. It also has a moulded base and cornice, with round-headed end plaques.
