Description

Bosmere Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that underwent significant restoration in the late 20th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate hipped roof and ashlar stacks to the rear ridges. The farmhouse is two storeys and has an attic with two hipped dormers. The front elevation has a three-window range of hollow-moulded stone mullion windows; these are 4-light on each side and 2-light to the first floor centre, set within a beaded flush surround with a gabled hood supported by carved timber brackets over the door. Dripstones are above the ground-floor windows. A raised plinth and flush quoins are visible. The north side features two dormers and a two-window range of 2-light mullion windows to the right, with a 3-light window on each floor to the left. Flush quoins and a raised plinth are also present on this side. The left-hand side may be a later addition. The end gable features a stone, possibly reset, inscribed with 'TA Esqr' and 'EA 1715'.
