Description
No 148 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices. It is part of a building with No 147 and dates from the 18th century, having been raised and remodeled in the early 19th century. The exterior features diaper brickwork with quoins and stone window dressings, topped by a hipped slate roof. The building is three storeys tall, with a central ground floor doorcase that has a triangular pediment supported by consoles. The door jambs have scrolls at the base, and there is a moulded six-panel door with a fanlight above. The front has three window bays, each with architraves, bracketed sills, an entablature, and a flat cornice, and the windows are fitted with margin-glazed sashes. At the back, there is a wing that connects to the North Wilts Bacon Factory, which is not included in this listing.
