Description
Anvil Cottage and the adjoining cottage to the north are a pair of late 18th-century cottages built in a row. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick with a tiled roof and brick stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have a three-window front. The front features two four-panelled doors and three three-light leaded casements with segmental heads. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements. A straight joint is visible between the left bay and the two right bays. The left side of the building is plastered and has one casement on the first floor. The rear of Anvil Cottage has a 19th-century extension with two-light casements, while the rear of the other cottage has both 19th and 20th-century extensions. The number 69 is incised on a stone at the front, which relates to a survey from 1784.
