Description
14 Queen Street is a Grade II* listed building dating back to the 15th century, with some alterations. It stands four storeys high, featuring a gabled front that is tile hung on a timber frame. The first and second floors overhang, and the first floor is plastered. The building has an old tiled roof. There is one 18th-century flush framed window on the second and third floors, which has no glazing bars. A canted 19th-century bay window is located under the overhang on the first floor. The shop front is modern. Inside, a considerable part of the spiral wooden staircase remains, and there is a trussed roof. This building was formerly connected with the Plume of Feathers Inn, which includes Nos 15 and 16. Nos 5 to 21 Queen Street form a group.
