Description

No. 45 Market Place is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick with chamfered stone quoins. It features a moulded stone cornice and a brick parapet that has quoins extending upward, topped with stone coping. The building has two dormers with 19th-century bargeboard gables and a mansard slate roof. There are three windows on the upper floors, which are recessed sashes without glazing bars, set beneath cambered gauged arches with moulded stone keyblocks. The second floor has blind cases. The ground floor has a modern shop front. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 41 to 44 and the Blue Boar Inn, as well as Nos. 45 to 51.
