Description
No. 45 Bridge Street is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with a parapet that has plain stone coping. The building is accented by two string courses and long and short stone quoins. The ground floor includes a mid-19th century shop front with an archway leading to the rear, featuring segmental enriched arches, plate glass, and piers in between. Above the shop front, there is a wood cornice with dentils, which appears to be original but has been partly restored. The upper floors are adorned with five plain sash windows that have glazing bars, stone keys, and sills, as well as flat brick heads. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 11, 13, 39 to 45 (odd), The Lion Hotel, and Nos. 2, 4, 8 to 14 (even), along with Nos. 16, 18, 20, and Nos. 22-24.
