Description
Nos. 16, 18, and 20 Bridge Street is a Victorian building that extends between number 14 and the passage to Barbauld Street. It is constructed of stone and has three storeys plus attics. The ground floor features a modern shop front. The upper storeys are adorned with giant Gibbs-type Composite pilasters. The symmetrical façade includes three round-arched windows in the center of each floor, flanked by recessed windows, and a curved balcony on the second floor. There is an egg and dart cornice moulding, and the building has three gabled attics with decorative swags. The corner leading to the passage is curved, with pediments above the windows. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 11, 13, 39 to 45 (odd), The Lion Hotel, Nos. 2, 4, 8 to 14 (even), and Nos. 22-24.
