Description
No. 8 Bridge Street is a Victorian stone building characterized by its tall, narrow proportions, consisting of three storeys and an attic. The ground floor features a modern shop front. On the first floor, there are two long narrow windows topped with curved pediments and adorned with curved iron balconies. The second floor has two rectangular windows set within moulded architraves, with decorative festoons positioned between and on either side. Above, there is a modillioned cornice, and the attic features a central window, which is a large 16-paned sash with a curved cornice, situated above the eaves. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 11, 13, 39 to 45 (odd), The Lion Hotel, Nos. 2, 4, 8 to 14 (even), Nos. 16, 18 and 20, and Nos. 22-24.
