Description

The National Westminster Bank, located at 23 Sankey Street, was built in 1847 by Walters of Manchester. This two-storey stone building is adjacent to Woolworth's, which is also constructed of stone. The bank features a round-arched doorway and windows set between panelled pilasters on the ground floor. Above, there are sash windows positioned between attached Corinthian columns across five bays. The building is topped with a cornice and a parapet. It forms a group with the Church of the Holy Trinity and Nos 19 to 25 (odd).
