Description
No 8 Market Place is a late Georgian corner building that was once a public house. It is constructed of brick and stands three storeys tall. The ground floor has been altered, but the upper floors feature three sash windows on each level, with the first floor having 16 panes and the second floor having 12 panes, all with flat brick arched heads. The right-hand return side, which is No 2 Mill Street, includes a central 6-paned door with a rectangular fanlight and two sash windows on each floor, with 12 panes on the first floor and 9 panes on the second. A brick dentilled cornice runs along the top of the building. This property is part of a group of listed buildings in the Market Place, which includes the side facade of Ye Olde Barley Mow Public House located on Market Street.
