Description
Ye Olde Barley Mow Public House features a side facade that dates back to the original wing, likely from the 16th century, which was later extended and re-faced in the 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and stands two storeys tall. It has a round-arched entrance flanked by panelled wood pilasters, with a barley sheaf depicted in plastered relief in the tympanum above. The ground floor has three sash windows, while the upper floor has two, both of which are irregularly spaced, with some windows having had their glazing bars replaced. A top cornice is present, and there are two very small windows in the attic that are now blocked. The side facade is part of a group with all the listed buildings in Market Place.
