Description

Ye Olde Barley Mow Public House, located on the north side of Market Place, was built in 1561 and altered and extended in the 19th century. The front facing Market Place features a black and white design, with more black than white, set on a red sandstone base. It includes two gables with small patterns and two rows of continuous small-paned windows. To the left, there is a passage adjoining No. 13 that has timber beams. The gable of the old wing is visible, but a brick extension has been constructed in front of it along Market Street. The building is part of a group with other listed buildings in the Market Place.
