Description
The Blue Bell Inn is an 18th-century inn with a 19th-century extension located at the corner of Lyme Street on Horsemarket Street. The original part of the building is constructed of brick and features two storeys with low proportions. It has a pilastered doorway that includes a plain round-arched fanlight and moulded architraves. There are two 3-light 19th-century sash windows on each floor, along with a smaller sash window on each floor, topped by a slate roof. The later section to the left rises to three storeys and includes a 19th-century shop front and door on the corner. This part has either a 12 or 9-paned sash window on each floor at the front, one on the canted angle, and two on the Lyme Street facade, all with stone sills and lintels.
