Description
The Lion Hotel is a licensed house that has been in operation since the 17th century, with the current building dating from the late 18th century and having undergone significant restoration. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof, featuring wooden eaves and a cornice. The building has long and short quoins, along with one contemporary rainwater head and pipe. The ground floor is faced in terracotta and includes new doors and a painted signboard, as well as an archway leading to the yard. The upper storeys are fitted with six restored sash windows on each floor. The Lion Hotel is part of a group that includes Nos 11, 13, 39 to 45 (odd), Nos 2, 4, 8 to 14 (even), Nos 16, 18, 20, and Nos 22-24.
