Description

This is a late 18th-century building on the south side of George Street. It is two storeys and has an attic. The building is constructed of painted brick with ashlar stone quoins set on a projecting plinth. A string course, formerly visible at first-floor level, is now partially obscured by a modern shop front fascia. The original moulded eaves cornice has been removed. The roof is a half-hipped mansard roof covered in old tiles, with flanking chimneys. There are two dormer casements with radiating glazing, each covered with lead. The upper windows are glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has been altered, featuring an otherwise plain 19th-century shop window.
