Description
Horseshoe Cottage consists of two houses, with one dating from around 1700. The front house, No 60, is built of painted brick and features a hipped thatched roof. It has a square plan and is two storeys high, with stacks at the east and rear. The front has two windows, separated by a moulded brick string course, with a pair of casements and a triple casement above. The door is located in an added hipped porch, below an altered triple casement. The rear range, No 59, is one and a half storeys tall, with a ridge stack and an east end stack. This part is mainly painted brick and has an eyebrow over a triple casement on each floor, a blocked central door, and a triple casement to the right. The slightly lower east end range features exposed heavy framing with brick and plaster panels, a triple casement to the left, and a pair of casements to the right. The east wall and rear wall are made of rubble, while the rear of the main part is weatherboarded.
