Description

Manor Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Charlton Village. It features a timber frame set on stone sills and has a thatched roof. Originally a single-storey building, it was raised in the late 17th to early 18th century to include an attic. The cottage has three bays and follows a lobby entry plan, with the entrance located in the central bay. The door and windows were replaced in the 20th century. The framing consists of two panels high with corner braces. There is a lean-to timber framed extension at the front of the central bay. Inside, there is a central brick stack with a chamfered fire lintel in the central bay, which is blocked at the rear. Additionally, there is a chamfered spine beam with ogee stops.
