Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory in the 17th century and later remodeled in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame that has been extended and remodeled in brick, with the front rendered. The building has a slate roof and is two storeys tall with an attic, designed in a 'T'-plan with an addition on the north side that is parallel to and longer than the main section of the 'T'. The front of the building incorporates earlier work and consists of four bays, with exposed framing on the north gable that has three panels high and corner braces. The entrance is located in a lean-to porch at the south re-entrant angle. The windows are early 19th century, featuring four panes in deep reveals with external moulded architraves. There is also a tripartite window in the one-bay rear wing and a panelled brick stack from the 17th century at the south end.
